Aftercare is very important.

Make the most out of your new cosmetic tattooing by following these aftercare instructions.

Brow Aftercare

The first 24 hours after treatment you must gently clean your treated area with a cotton pad in cool boiled or sterile water. Then blot dry with a clean tissue.

Expect slight redness and tenderness straight after treatment. If necessary, apply ice packs to reduce any swelling that may occur after treatment.

No touching

Remember, you are dealing with an open wound, so please do NOT touch your eyebrows with your fingers or anything else – this may lead to infection.

It’s VERY IMPORTANT not to peel or scratch the pigment. Do not put anything on the TREATED area. Such as makeup, cleansers, creams, hair. Nothing, until it is completely healed.

Sleeping and heat

Please try to sleep on your back while healing. There is a chance of losing colour if you sleep on the area treated.

Avoid excessive heat to the area, that includes exercise, heavy activity, saunas, tanning beds, sun, hot showers. Anything that will cause moisture or humidity as it will cause fading.

Healing time and process

After the first 24 hours – you will DRY heal, unless Nicola provides you with an aftercare ointment to apply. The healing period is usually around 10-14 days, depending on your lifestyle, age, diet & immune system.

Brows will initially heal 30-50% darker and thicker than when they heal. the first 3-5 days of healing, exfoliation will begin and the excess pigment will begin to flake off. During this period the eyebrows will become itchy. It is IMPORTANT not to peel or scratch the pigment.

The colour will then finish flaking off between 5-10 days (every individual heals at a different pace) and it will appear more natural and a little thinner than initial treatment. Between 7-14 days at whatever stage your pigment flakes off, your brows will lighten from being overly dark, and will also be lighter than the final colour will be. The colour will then gradually start to become more apparent between days 14-21 and by day 28 the healing is complete.
