What is the difference between traditional tattooing, permanent make up & microblading?
All of the above procedures involve tattooing pigment into the skin. However, with traditional tattooing pigment is implatied a little deeper into the third layer of the skin. With Permanent make up, pigment is added to the second layer which is the Dermis. This creates a more natural/softer look than traditional tattoing. Microblading features very fine hair stroke (aka feather touch) lines, using a hand tool, drawn on by a skilled artist.
Is the procedure painful?
Pain varies from person to person. Pain increasing agents such as caffeine, stress, internal events i.e., the female cycle may all add to the pain threshold. Ointments & creams can be applied to minimise any discomfort. Over the counter creams & medications are available in pharmacies. And you may wish to take a standard pain killer 30 minutes prior to treatment.
Do i choose my shape?
Of course, we work together in creating the most symmetrical shape for your face/natural eyebrow.
Do i choose my colour?
We tailor each colour to your skin tone, undertone & eyebrow hair. You will see the colours before the treatmemt goes ahead. For lips & eyes we can go with your desired colour and in some cases we may have to modify it according to your undertone.
When will i require a touch up?
Every treatment will require atleast one touch-up 4-8 weeks after the initial treatment, as it is a multiple procedure. A Yearly colour boost is recommended for all Permanent make up to keep the colour fresh in the skin.
How many touch ups will i require?
In some cases, some clients may require a third top up - everyone & every skin type is different there are many lifestyle & aftercare factors with permanent make up to ensure pigment retention in the skin.
How long does it last?
Colour retention lasts different on every individual. Exposure to sunlight or UV, glycolic peels, Retin A, anti aging creams, eyebrow tinting and some medication have been known to fade permanent over time. An annual colour boost is recommended.
